While conducting field research in the public schools on the outskirts of Greater São Paulo in 1999, documented the lack of reading practice, reflection and debate in the daily classroom. In 2000 the Reading Circles project was created, with a first group of students in the School of supplementary municipal Conforja in Diadema. In 2005 this project received a total of 1400 students in 24 state schools in the periphery of Greater São Paulo and São Bernardo community centers.
Design Academy of Sciences has proposed to develop the interest and arouse their vocation in the sciences in order to build scientific knowledge with young public school education in order to increase their access to education and their chances in the labor market .
The Excellence in Educational Management program began in 2009 with a partnership between the São Paulo State Ministry of Education, the Fernand Braudel Institute of World Economy and the Itaú Social Foundation. Now in our first year of implementation, we can affirm that integration has been the guiding theme of the program’s execution.
