Disturbing news for citizens of São Paulo: São Paulo is the most violent city in the world. Now, some heartening news: this unfortunate distinction only gained widespread media attention because it was announced by an international agency and, therefore, the information may be outdated or wrong. Lucky for São Paulo, both problems were present in this case.
